\u00a0In this release we made some major steps forward to ensure the mobile app always has the most up to date information for SPS Events apps around the world.\u00a0 You can read more about\u00a0the new features and enhancements below.<\/p>\n<p>During this release phase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canviz.com\" target=\"_blank\">my team<\/a> and I worked with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glapointe\" target=\"_blank\">Gary Lapointe<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bishopd\" target=\"_blank\">Darrin Bishop<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ericharlan\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Harlan<\/a>\u00a0to integrate the mobile app with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spsevents.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.spsevents.org<\/a>\u00a0web site and add new functionality to the mobile app.<\/p>\n<p>Read on below to learn more about the app, how you can get it, and answers to many frequently asked questions.\u00a0 Please spread the word to all the SPS Events organizers and attendees you know so they can take advantage of this free mobile app and get the most out of their SPS Events experience with it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you attend an SPS Events conference you need to find out where the event is and how to get there, what time it starts and ends, what sessions are available to attend, who the presenters are, what room the sessions are in, what time they begin, etc. SPS Events Mobile puts\u00a0all of this information at your fingertips as well as providing\u00a0you the ability to build your own personal event schedule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to get it<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SPS Events Mobile application is now available for Apple, Android, and Windows Phone devices!<\/p>\n<p>You can find the SPS Events Mobile application in the Apple, Google, and Microsoft marketplaces at the following links.\u00a0 These links also include screenshots of the SPS Events Mobile application.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/sps-events\/id596644745?ls=1&amp;mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">Apple<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=canviz.sps.mobility\" target=\"_blank\">Google<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windowsphone.com\/en-us\/store\/app\/sps-events\/9a877a24-e002-46ad-8191-516b4ad636e4\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Features in this release<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We added several new features to the app in this release, including:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Data integration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spsevents.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.spsevents.org<\/a>\u00a0web site!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">When an event organizer creates, updates, or deletes data in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spsevents.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.spsevents.org<\/a>\u00a0web site the data is automatically synched into the mobile database.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">This means that <em><strong>the mobile app is always up to date with the latest event information<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">In the past, we had a hard time getting event organizers to supply us with event information and as a result the app rarely had any real events in it. \u00a0This will no longer be the case! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* View Sponsors<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Sponsorship Level<br \/>\nLogo<br \/>\nTwitter<br \/>\nLinkedIn<br \/>\nFaceBook<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* View Event-specific Announcements<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">This provides event organizers with the ability to make global announcements specific to their event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">An example might be something like &#8220;There is a blue car parked outside with license plate SPS-EVNT that has it&#8217;s lights on.&#8221;, or other such announcements everyone at the event needs to know about.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* View Event-specific Events and Activities<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Things like the Keynote, Lunch, and SharePint\u00a0are now listed in the mobile app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Speaker pictures are now part of the speaker page<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Automatic user account creation and credential distribution upon event registration!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">This means that as soon as you sign up for an event on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spsevents.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.spsevents.org<\/a>\u00a0a mobile app user account and password is created and emailed to you as part of your registration confirmation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">This reduces work on the event organizers and all of us who support the app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">The user account allows you to log into the app to build your own personalized event session schedule which you can easily access on the main page upon login.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Existing Features and functionality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Cross device compatibility<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* View mobile app announcements<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Browse upcoming SPS Events<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Search for upcoming SPS Events<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* View individual SPS Events details including:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Date, time, location, Bing map, link to event web site, Twitter hash tag, event contact information<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Contact an event organizer<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Submit feedback about the application<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Search and browse the sessions for each SPS Event<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Browse speaker details for each session<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Browse all the sessions a speaker is presenting<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* Allow users to log into the application and personalize it for the SPS Event they are attending.
